And I'd like to be the first and last poster: Saban has no reason to leave Alabama to go back to the NFL. I do not believe he would leave for ANY amount of money. This is not for his great, undying love for The University: it is because he has seen the NFL, and knows that his true strength is in teaching young men, and watching them mature from high schoolers to productive adults. This is unique to college sports, and can not be relpicated in professional sports.

I'm sure others will post about Saban to Dallas, but let it be said: I see this as a minimal posibility situation. No one ever says NEVER, but MINIMAL possibility. :a:

"I'm not gonna be the next head coach at Alabama" -- don't think i need to put the person who stated that ;)

that being said, I don't try to predict anything, people do stupid things when lots of money is in the mix.

I don't think he will leave, but it wouldn't shock me if he did...just for those simple facts above.

I am a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan. They are horrible this year.

Don't see Saban going back to the NFL. Don't see him leaving Alabama, period, because he has such a good setup here. Nobody will give him more control than Bama did.

With Gruden, Cowher and Dungee on the open market, I don't think there's much to worry about. They all have Super Bowl rings.

My money is on Gruden. He's obviously passionate about the sport and I think someone with his charisma would do wonders for the morale in that locker room.

Here is the list of potential candidates from ESPNDallas.com. I think you'll find a certain name missing

John Fox: 2-1 -- Jones family loves the Carolina coach, but he has to finish the season first

Jason Garrett: 5-1 -- The front-runner if he can turn the 1-7 season around into a positive

Jim Harbaugh: 8-1 -- A dark horse who is young and will make players accountable

Jon Gruden: 10-1 -- A tough hire; he might prefer to coach in the Midwest

Mike Zimmer: 10-1 -- He knows the Cowboys' way of doing things but has never been a head coach

Brian Schottenheimer: 12-1 -- An up-and-coming coach who seems to push players, especially the quarterback

Bill Cowher: 20-1 -- Cowher wants power to come out of retirement, but Cowboys might not give it to him

Leslie Frazier: 30-1 -- A defensive-minded coach who is quiet and firm

Rob Ryan: 45-1 -- Fiery defensive coordinator who comes from a good coaching family

Tony Dungy: 100-1 -- He likes retirement, but will the lure of the Cowboys bring him back?

Good find there Duder! I've seen alot of opposing teams' fans jumping on the Saban to Dallas bandwagon. I think he has tried that trip before and didn't like the journey. He has the power he wants and he can break this kids' egos down and mold them into champions. In the NFl, he has to deal with other millionaires. We all know that Mrs. Terry loves the college atmosphere. We also know this; If Momma is happy, everyone is happy. IF Momma ain't happy, NO ONE IS HAPPY! I think CNS wants to keep Momma happy!!!

Aside from the listing above. I do know that the Cowboys did come after Saban (if only to gauge interest. I do not have any details other than there has been contact). I am in agreement with everyone here though... he will not go. He could use it to get another mil or two out of us, but I don't think he moves until he heads to the lake in North UGA land.
