Did GA do strategic mistake by not interferring? Even if they had got a penalty it would have been 15 yd and maybe Dobbs may not have been able to pass accurate next time.
Hindsight... wonder what the coaches teach. Joey was mentioning it on ESPN.

That Tenn game is quite dangerous. I cannot think of any interceptions we had for passes longer than 30 yds in last 3-4 years. And can think of so many completions in that period.

I thought the same thing about that play, as well as the Georgia scoring play.

I share your concern about Tn. They have a bunch of big receivers, like OM, though Kelly is a much more dangerous passer than Dobbs,IMO.

One caveat on running inside on the Vols. Both their starting inside backers were out for this game with injuries. I have no idea whether they will be back for our game or not.

When I was watching the TN/Fl game, I had an unpleasant memory. Florida had the big halftime lead, and went into a shell on offense after that. It was run on 1st down, run on 2nd down, through an incomplete pass on third down. Against Oklahoma, in our bowl game, we seemed to have the game in hand, and got ultra conservative in the third quarter. The Sooner's got hot, and we got into a situation where we had to pass and they had a great outside pass rusher whom we couldn't block, and we lost the game in the 4th. Our OC then was the current Florida OC, Nussmaier. UT teed off on Florida's moderate passing game after they had the lead, and the game was over.

Hopefully, lesson learned. If we get up on them as their first four opponents had, don't take our foot off the gas. They can come back with big plays.

Lot of people blamed Saban for that game too...

What I saw was a bunch of UGA players trying to intercept the ball instead of focusing on knocking it down. The majority of the UGA defenders were behind the receivers with only 1 (?) in front.

Will someone tell me about that guy on the sideline, that was wearing a gray UT shirt? I guess he some type of coach? Close to the end of the game it look like he tried reaching for the ball while it was still in the air? It to me that would be some type of interference? Did any of you see this went it happen?

Yeah, sometimes he wears green, sometimes red (that's how I first noticed him a few weeks ago). He did stick his hand up.

I believe you need to interfere on that play. No way would they call interference with 6-7 guys going up for a jump ball like that. They bragged about putting 6'6" Lorenzo Carter back there to defend and he allowed the guy to catch it in front of him. You don't let anyone behind you in that instance and you damn sure don't let them catch it in front of you!!!

Carter's mistake was lining up at the very back of the end zone. Too many bodies in front of him to get to the ball. His position should have been more towards the middle of the end zone.

Which falls on alignment which in turn falls on Kirby and Mel Tucker. Kirby tried to make it seem like the defense was at fault due to them practicing this play every Thursday.

Execution or coaching? UGA fans seem to fall on the later. IF they've been practicing this every Thursday for seven/eight weeks? That does fall on the players in my eyes.
