You know, I've never "itched" so bad for a season to get started! My association with Touchdown Alabama Magazine and other publications have afforded me a view of the Crimson world I'd never had before... But one of the things I'd always done was the Larry's Losers in the SEC column... It's a heartfelt tribute to the days when I was a younger, uh, much younger man and listened to Leanord's Losers with Leanord Posttoasties on Saturday morning.

He did the big games of the weekend and I just do the SEC... But we both pick losers in a colloquial, irreverent way.

This is the first year I've done a preseason pick column, but I just couldn't wait to get this football funny farm forming fantastic formulas for future failures, so here is part one, picking the losers in the SEC West.

Thanks! The West SHOULD be the easiest to pick, the East the hardest... I'm not quite so ready to anoint Georgia the East crown again just because Aaron Murray returns for his Sr. year... After all, they haven't beaten South Carolina yet have they? At least not in the Murray era for the last three years in a row... Without having the SEC to beat up the Cocks and let Georgia slide through to the SECCG, they aren't there.... Now with S.C. having a Georgia type year without having to play the heavyweights in the SEC West, let's see how it goes...

Ole Miss may be higher in that list.

You know, of all the teams in the West, that was a toughie to predict this early... I'm just old fashioned though and you gotta show me something first... There have been too many times in the past where Ole Miss was GOING to do well, but........ So I'm gonna play it close to the vest until they convince me they're over that hump...

I haven't seen theirs till I read this post, yeah, I guess the West is sort of cut and dried.... As I said Ole Miss COULD surprise and Short Bus Gus' smoke and mirror offense works well if you haven't played against it before, so they may win one or two more than I predicted or lose one or two more than I guessed because he ain't got Cam Newton pulling his trigger anymore... (G)

And besides, while we may have similar picks, mine was more amusing, which is what I was going for... (G)
