šŸˆ Lane Kiffin on Finebaum: Trolls Jim from Tuscaloosa through many outlets

I caught about 10 minutes of this live on the SECN yesterday. Paul was grinning from ear to ear. You've seen viral...well, this caught sports writers reacting like ...

I wonder if some of those callers actually post on Bama boards? The thing about Jim is he's so narcissistic he can't get a sentence out without blowing his own horn. Fights with everyone within the sound of his voice and Finebaum, for some reason, seems to enjoy and favor these type dudes the most.

Most of those "regulars" are just characters at this point. Jim was just the Georgia troll claiming he lived in Bama, "Iron Man" was an asshole and Tammy was the nut job Auburn fan. When Finebaum started getting more national attention those characters ramped things up 10-fold and they started having more and more of those types of "callers." I say "callers" because I think there are several that are plants.

PF has platform now to have a legit show with decent discussions. Holding on to the embarrassment of many of the 'regular' callers gives the show a Maury Povich vibe and fuels the stereotypes of inbreeding in Alabama.

You gotta hand it to him. Undefeated in his conference in his 1st year means he's doing SOMETHING right, as unorthodox as it may seem.

As many conference wins this year for FAU as they've had in the last three years--combined. He'll leave this season with the best record of any season of FAU football (Schnellenberger, '07: 8-5 overall, 6-1 in conference.)

BTW, last Saturday they (ESPN) had a segment with Rinaldi interviewing Kiffin. I tried to find the video Sunday but couldn't.

It's worth the watch: better than the interview linked in this thread, IMO.

^^ That last comment Kiffin said in the interview reminded me of this comment from Chryst.

ā€œAnd we talk about this all the time: The best part of football is playing the game. And you only win the game at the end of the game,ā€ Chryst says. ā€œSo if all you're concerned about is winning the game, you missed the best part of the game, and that's playing.ā€

In a sense this reminds me of South Florida when Jim Leavitt was their head coach. In both cases the studentsreally got behind the football program.

There is a difference to date. When USF started having their success it came with a bit of a "thuggish" mentality from their team and their fan base. It was as if they were trying to resurrect the Miami of old.

Right now, I don't sense that from the players, coaches, or fans at Florida Atlantic.

If CLK just coach’s football, he is one of the best offensive minds in the business. Hopefully, he has grown and learned during his time at Bama on how to run a team in all areas. I really wish him the very best. Personally, I’d like from him to stay at FIU for another year or two and make sure he is firmly grounded.

But it's his mouth and fingers that get him in trouble !
