🏈 Kind of OT: AJ McCarron NFL tonight

After getting some kudos in the OTAs and early camp and following an injury which kept him out of early preseason, AJ is supposed to get the 2nd team snaps after Dalton plays his alotted time with the 1s.

How do y'all think he will look in his first live action since departing Bama?

I don't expect a Pro-Bowl performance in light of the fact he will be with the 2s and as stated it is his first game time since finishing at the Capstone.

I do want/expect to see good solid decision making.

I think he gets a big chunk of time... I believe I saw somewhere that they only had 2 QBs- AJ and Dalton, but then I saw a 3rd guy listed on the depth chart the other day. I still expect to see Dalton in for maybe 2 series, then AJ for the rest until maybe the 4th when they bring in that other guy (if there is a 3rd QB).

Hoping he makes some solid decisions as well and just doesn't look flustered.... settle the fuck down should have stuck in his head and he may need it tonight with the nerves.

As they are playing the Tampa Bucs I hold out some hope that AJ runs out and bitch slaps Crabcakes Winston at some point.

(yes I know it was actually crab legs but crabcakes has better alliteration IMO)

AJ may never be a long term NFL starter but I could absolutely see him pulling a Jason Garrett type career. He could be a long term backup, score basically league minimum, and then go into coaching. League minimum is still significantly more than the vast majority of people make. He can win a game for you in a pinch because he'll take care of the ball.

This year AJ and DeAndrew are my 2 "special" cases. Really hoping they can both solidify a spot for the season.
