Sports radio here in Atlanta is also calling everything false and laughing at the ridiculousness of the rumors. What coach has time to go anywhere other than his office and the practice field during the season?
TMZ is also reporting this is all a bunch of rumors about Lane being released. Imagine this ... TMZ carrying more credibility than ATL sports radio. Shocker, eh?
Something must not be "right" about the rumors if Finebaum is refusing to comment on it or even allow his callers talk about it. He's hung up on one who tried to bring it up.
CNS responded earlier this week that most had responded well after the loss and someone speculated that it might not be just players he was referring to. Maybe Lane the Midnight Train?
Unless they give him a raise to be paid more than his USC contract, it means nothing. He didn't get a raise (raises were done earlier this year), because he still makes his USC contact amount. Why should Alabama pay a bigger share?
Yep. If his payout from USC is structured like a lot of others a raise at Alabama would do him no good. USC probably only actually pays him the difference between what Bama pays him and what his USC contract paid.
Come on folks, When you argue with fools it is hard to tell who the fools are. Rumors and innuendos are designed to make a superior team look bad. It is the oldest trick in the world that a lot of ladder climbers use to defeat their enemies. How do you defend "When did you stop beating your wife?" I know Kiffin may make mistakes with his game plan, but no more than any other coach. Alabama can't pay him more than his USC severance. He knows this. Let's stop being couch coaches.
The reason he was not given a raise it that he is still under a severance package from USC. Any increase in pay at his current job would reduce his severance pay from USC so that he sees no net increase in pay. Why not USC continue to pay him the full severance amount?
