🏈 Kiffin Is Out

I got this on the SEC site and I read that Kiffin will just trade job now! He will be in the booths and Sake will be on the side line? Any of you read this? Is it true? Right now I'm on my phone and can't post the link, I have tried

Alabama never changes terminology for the sake of an incoming coach.

New coaches at Bama are expected to learn the existing terminology.

Makes total sense if you think about it; why make a team learn new terminology instead of one coach. I have no idea why everyone doesn't do it that way.

You seem to have joy in your heart.

Would have been much more joy in my heart had it happened 3 weeks earlier... I might be his biggest detractor here but not a big fan of the timing. Ultimately this has potential to be a very great move though!

The more simplistic things are kept with this offense, the more efficient/effective this team can be. It appeared Kiffin just couldn't or wouldn't grasp that.

LMFAO ...... let's be real his ass was fired.

. I think there is more to this than meets the eye.

Yesterday, starting with Mike and Mike, I heard their stories change within an hour. It was worse with Trevor Matich listening to him talk about a decision was made by Saban to Kiffin was fired.

My issue with both is they forgot to preface their opinions with caveats like "I think." It's not any different than the "let's be real ..."

Personally, I don't care what the story was, is, or will be. Today is no different than the day he was hired--all about results on the field. Make no mistake, those haven't been pretty on a few occasions this season.

** Changing the subject, slightly. **

One of the things I respected about Carroll and his days at USC was the way he managed all those ego's within the football department. For Saban, he's had to deal with some of the same issues. I know Kirby and Lane were having issues last season which led to a lot of the stories you've seen around the 'Net.

In the end, if anything, I expect a more cohesive staff going into Monday nights game due to chemistry alone.

I have heard that a lot of the offensive staff had odds with Kiffin this year.

So what you're saying is... He got fired... lol

But anyway, agree that what USC had going was amazing. Saban is such an enigma. Seeing all the details that go into dominating CF for an extended amount of time, it's truly amazing. As time moves on you forget about other teams' runs, but USC was the ish for a long time. Carrol did it in a 180 degree different way but it made sense for the LA vibe and the era CF was going through. I do think that when we look back at our former OC's - Guys like McElwain, Kirby, Pruitt will grow in ego and gain a ton of positive and negative media attention just as the USC guys have. McElwain is a little off, Pruitt is really off, and Kirby is at Georgia so he's bound to f*ck something up. But when they're all younger the ego is a fraction of their big time head coaching self, the media is far less interested, so things are much easier.

A quality that both Saban & Carrol share is how they used the media. Carrol had USC looking like a 5 year frat party... Saban uses them to dominate whatever topic he wants to spotlight. Difference was Pete wanted attention for his team, Saban usually wants it elsewhere. But both have/had the media in their back pockets. Pretty impressive and ultimately created these amazing brands and identities that help with every aspect of having a successful program. Hopefully Saban ends a little better though lol

There's a ton of stories that have been circulating over the past two seasons; some true, some false. I know Kirby wasn't on "good terms" with Lane last season and that friction led to a lot of the Freshwater stories being tossed about.

Over the last few weeks Lane has reminded me of Brodie ... both with an aura about them that didn't sit well with their peers.

On the news feed on my phone I noticed this article coming from Georgia: https://www.dawgnation.com/football...ne-kiffin-takes-veiled-swipe-ugas-kirby-smart

I could see that happening, but in this case I think it's more about UGA fans making something out of nothing. My point here is a post made by a UGA fan down the page a bit ... from Shon Brooks.

... Kyle Shanahan has the same issues as Kiffin, yet because of recent success with the Falcons, no one brings it up. If Kiffin did not become a hot coaching candidate after the excellent job he did modernizing Bama's offense, and he didn't take another job, this also would not be an issue. The media ,once again, is being selective with what they both report and print just to create a narative because of a slow news cycle based on the end of the regular season and fewer games being played. I'm 1000% confident other coaches, including Saban, has made off-the-cuff remarks about other coaches, yet for fear of retribution, don't publish them or speak on those comments publicly. Kiffin is an entitled jerk, yet none of this has anything to do with his ability to "on the field of play" at the college level. I'm pretty sure he will be a pretty good head coach at FAU, but in today's modern sports world, the head coach must be as efficient and mature off the field, as they are on it. This is just my sober analysis, not a defence of Kiffin. Oh, how we seem to forget how frustrated Saban was with both McElwain and Smart when they were both being courted and eventually took other jobs
.

It's my opinion we have coaches on the staff who can't separate the two. It's also my opinion, as mentioned with @Tidestalker , Saban has his hands full juggling so many egos within one building.
