Kentucky RB Jojo Kemp thought he was having a little fun talking some trash to the players he knows on Florida's football team. However, his words had some unintended consequences.

Kentucky has a 27-game losing streak to Florida. However, the streak didn't stop Kemp from saying Tuesday how fun it would be to win at Florida on Saturday night.

"A couple of my (high school) teammates actually went to Florida, so I'm familiar with a lot of those guys," Kemp said after practice Tuesday via CatsIllustrated.com. "It's going to be fun walking out with a victory and rubbing it in their faces."

Kemp is a Florida native, though he said he was more of a Miami Hurricanes fan growing up. He said he wanted to show his Florida friends how hard he and the Wildcats have been working.

"I'm just going to show them what I came here for, the reason I came here, to show them what I've been working so hard for," Kemp said. "I don't usually go home during my breaks, so I want to actually show them why I haven't been home, show them all the hard work that me and the guys put in that are actually changing this program around."

Last year, Kemp made a guarantee, though it was not nearly as bold as this one. He guaranteed that his Wildcats would score against Alabama, and gosh darn they did. Alabama won 48-7.

Unsurprisingly, Kentucky coach Mark Stoops was not happy with Kemp's comments about beating the Gators. The last Kentucky win in the series was on Nov. 15, 1986 when the Wildcats won 10-3. (So yes, none of the players on Kentucky's roster were born the last time the Wildcats beat the Gators.)

"I was furious. The thing is – I was outraged; I talked to him about it – but the thing is, he was trying to make light of some friends that he has on this program," Stoops said Wednesday on the SEC teleconference. "But like I told him yesterday, 'You think they're gonna hear all that? They're gonna hear the last five seconds of what you said.' And I know the great pride of the players in that locker room at Florida. I've been all through Florida. I've been at Miami, been at South Florida and been at Florida State. I know personally quite a few of those players and the pride that they have, and one thing: it's not very smart to try to challenge their pride before you play them."

"Believe me, I know them. And so I don't think that was very smart. It's not something that I teach. It's not how we talk. And really, if you listen to his whole conversation, he was quite humble and really handled himself the right way until the end. But again, that's just not very smart on our part, and we'll get that fixed."

And Stoops was right, Kemp's words spread quickly. Wednesday afternoon, there was already a motivational poster at Florida with a picture of Kemp and his comment about winning.

Florida probably doesn't need any more motivation; this is already a prove it year for the Gators. But you can bet that Kemp now isn't going to hear the end of his comments on the field throughout the game from various Florida players. And not only that, but if Florida pushes the streak to 28, he'll hear more about his comments after the game too.

i may be in a small number, but i think kentucky has a good shot in this game if their secondary has a great game. i don't think anyone really knows enough about florida's offense to say it will be a blowout.

Acting just like his brother, a complete idiot. Oh wow, he said he couldn't wait to get a win in Gainesville to rub in his buddies faces. Whooptey freaking doo. Good lord, this could have been a million times worse. It was under good fun with no profanities. Bulletin board material is straight BS anyways. So what that kid said is going to miraculously create a Herculean effort from the Florida Gators to play better? I highly doubt these words are going to create an environment that'll put Kentucky at any more of a disadvantage than they came in with. Let the kid have fun and don't be "furious" with petty stuff like this. Come on Stoops, you make millions a year, you've got more to deal with than this crap.
