Crimson Tide senior Alex Amankwah currently owns the third-fastest men's 800-meters time in the world this season and junior Cameron Hudson ranks among the world's top 20 in two events as they are among five University of Alabama athletes, along with the Tide's men's 4x400-meter relay team, to rank among the top 20 on current world lists, according to AllAthletics.com as of Monday.

Four men and one female athlete represent the Tide in the rankings. Senior sprinter Remona Burchell ranks 12th in the world in the women's 60-meter dash via her 7.20 clocking on Saturday at the New Mexico Team Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. Hudson ranks tied for 19th in the men's 60 and is tied for 20th on the men's long jump list off a pair of performances last Saturday. Alabama's men's 4x400-meter relay unit of Steven Gayle, Hudson, Marlon Humphrey and Amankwah ran 3:08.67 on Saturday in Albuquerque, a time that is currently fifth on the World List.

Amankwah and his Alabama teammate, sophomore Jacopo Lahbi, posted the world's No. 3 and No. 17 times in the men's 800 meters on Jan. 24 in Nashville, Tenn., at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Amankwah set a school record of 1 minute, 46.86 seconds to edge Lahbi, who broke the tape in 1:48.28. At the time, Amankwah's performance was the best in the world in 2015.
