I know money talks but Coach Rock hates Alabama with his entire being. But that was back in 2000 so maybe his feelings have changed.

I know he was the #1 guy on Pruitt's list when he (JP) came here and is among the 'finalist' for this job.

Personally, I don't give a damn where he went to school. I do care what the position coach brings, and we need one that fits the mold of Davis.

The defensive line was **tight** last year. Hell, anytime you saw any media appearance you didn't see one, you saw them all. It was that kind of group, brought together by Davis.

I believe Rocker can accomplish the same.

I don't know enough about Dunbar to say whether he could or couldn't. I have to believe Saban believes he can.

It's a weird little story as I see it ... Dunbar is really in love with the idea of coaching under Saban and Pruitt is really in love with continuing to coach with Rocker.

I have to think that if money is the issue with Rocker, then it shouldn't be an issue for us. One thing is for sure.....since Saban has got the keys to the kingdom, money has never really been an issue when it comes to getting what he wants. Give him the title needed to get it done and get his ass in Tuscaloosa.

I'm assuming if it is contract related, it falls along the lines of the length of the contract. An extra 100K a year isn't that big of a deal in today's world. Asking for a guarantee?

It's a perfect time for any DL coach that's been contacted to get all he can. This time of the year is a stumbling block; Saban, Alabama, or not.

Honestly Doug, I won't be surprised if this last until after spring evaluations. I just don't get a sense of urgency. If it happens to come together today, so be it. If it takes another few weeks, so be it.

Dunbar will be at Bama for 16. but I think they go after Rocker after the season. just my thoughts. Because I'm not sure what kind of recruiter he is.

I'm not saying I'm smarter than Saban or anything, but this just doesn't seem like the best hire.

But, Saban hasn't been as successful as he has been by listening to people like me
