🏈 Just pick one player

If you could bring just one player back for this weeks game (in their prime) who would you want? I would want Van T. If the game is on the line and we had to kick, say a 52 yard FG to win, I would want him...

For THIS week's game, we need someone who can throw over the top - DT was amazing, but this D is already sick. Shaun A was amazing, but we have good RBs. Chris Samuels WOULD do better than our current guys, but they are no slouches.

Namath could scramble, run, and pass, and with a cannon for an arm. It's Joe Willie all the way for THIS game!

Roll Tide!

DT or Van Tiffin are excellent choices; however, we have a solid and terrorizing LB corps, and if the game comes down to a kick, then as troll-sounding as this may be, perhaps the blame would probably lie elsewhere.

I'd like to see Eddie Jackson back. We haven't had a NOT since he was hurt.

My choice B is either John Hannah or Barrett Jones, a stellar OL who will grind the game out with either Adams or Lawson.

31 years ago, and still among my very favorite games I've attended. I was a college kid dating an aubrun tigerette and sat in the middle of one of their sections until mid 1st quarter when our seats were shuffled to the end of the row by acclamation. Tiffin stepped up big that day, hitting four out of five FG attempts. Over time, though, we let the nostalgia drift in, and the facts get left behind. Tiffin was 17 of 26 that year, hitting a little less than two out of three attempts (65 percent). That sounds familiar to our current kicker, who was 23 of 32 last year (72 percent) and is 14 of 20 this year (70 percent). Van's boy was vilified by fans after a horrible game against Arkansas, and then he quietly became the all-time record-holder for FG, hitting 83 of 111 (74.8 percent), including those Arky misses (was it four he missed that day?). Going into that '85 Iron Bowl, Van Tiffin was just 12 of 20 for the year. He stepped up. Others will step up, perhaps Griffin, when we need them most. I threw out Chris Samuels as someone we could use this Saturday, but I'm changing my mind. Let's just play with the hand we're dealt.

Chris Samuels.
Given Auburn's offensive injuries plus our defensive strengths, I can't select any defensive player. So Samuels is tempting, especially given Auburn's strong DL. But I think our OL deficiencies along the interior outweigh the shoulder problems of Cam. So as a few others have noted, I'd take Warmack.

A healthy Ingram, Richardson, Lacy, or Yeldon comes in a close second because we need to control possession and our RBs are banged up.
