šŸˆ Just looking over some stats from two quarterbacks this morning...

I like the kid. I like his commitment and selfless attitude. But am I the only one that thinks he's looked really uneasy when he took snaps? Like very happy feet and super anxious to get rid of the ball on pass plays? Again, maybe it's just me.

I'll note that many a high school QB have passed for 2,500 yards in a high school season and never really made it in the college ranks so I don't put much weight in that other than its cool that he had better numbers than McCarron...

He did get happy feet a few times but lets be real, most of his snaps were with backups and it wasnt like he had a ton of time. He did look comfortable the few times we saw him with the first team (Georgia State for example).

I do remember the entire back & forth but it that was hinged on if we would use him as QB. Or would he be given the chance to compete as a QB.

-I remember folks in GA were saying they'd love him since Shockley was the last QB to win the SEC for UGA of which I thought he did real well his only year as a QB for UGA (senior year too).

-The consistency of Sims seems to be the entire issue, much like Kaepernik

-I realize who CNS has recruited coming in but if Sims can do the job & still get around, well it could be CNS f/u gesture to the rest of the league. He did like the wildcat & look how that turned out.

Take it for what it's worth, considering the source, but this is the first article I came across on a quick google search.

Sims’ recruitment has been a difficult emotional journey. After first committing last spring, Sims decommitted to Bama on Jan. 8, the day after it had won the BCS national title. At the time he expressed concerns over how he may — or may not — be utilized by the Tide on the offensive side of the ball. Coach Nick Saban was able to allay those concerns over the weekend.

ā€œI was able to spend a lot of time with Coach Saban and that was what helped me make up my mind more than anything else,ā€ Sims said. ā€œHe didn’t make any promises. He just said come in ready to play.ā€
Sims said he was assured he would play on the offensive side of the ball but not specifically what position.

At Gainesville he starred at quarterback while most suspect he’ll play a slot receiver position in college. Sims also said he would be given the opportunityto compete in the returns game. Basically Saban asked Sims to trust that Alabama would utilize his abilities to the fullest.

ā€œI really don’t know to tell you the truth,ā€ he said when asked what position he’d play. ā€œ[Saban] just said do what they tell me and believe that they’ll do what’s best for me. Coach Saban has been in it so long and he knows what he’s doing. All I want to do is contribute and help win another national championships.
I don't doubt there was a "you'll have the opportunity to compete for the QB position" said at some point.
