🏈 Julio Jones is #1; who will be #2?

i'm sure mccoy will get the nod.. he and mcelroy have good chemistry, plus he probably has the most game experience..

maze will see action, but will always be a secondary reciever.. he is a deep threat and will be utilized as a decoy at times.

saban has shown us that he likes meat, and we have two freshmen coming that are 6'4 200+.. kendall kelly and micheal bowman will almost certintaly get their shots.. if they can produce, they may be impact players.. don't rule out earl alexander either, when he is back to 100%.

i expect to see alot from our passing game this year.. i have a great feeling about mcelroy. he seems like a winner to me.. he is loaded with confidence and shows alot of intelligence.. he was recruited by stanford and boston college.. both of these schools have shown a nack for finding hidden jewels at the QB position..

either way this talent spread all over the field can only mean one thing for julio.. 1 on 1, and he will rarely loose with those odds..

by the way:

the espn articles about the top 30 players in the sec has made it down to number 6, and still no julio.. could he be challenging for the top spot?

I agree I think McElroy will do a good job and I'm hoping to see more out of the passing game also. However I think Saban is always gonna have a conservative philosophy on offense.

If Maze has continued to improve his hands before the season starts, I think he will be a big enough threat to work Julio into single coverage. McCoy is solid, but hes kind of a jack of all trades/ master of none. So his role cant really be defined.

As far as #1, 2, and 3 go, I dont care, just throw it to the guy thats open.

I'm gonna say that our number 2 and 3 WR's are going to be McCoy and Maze...both with very similar production. Between Bowman and Kelly (assuming that both make the grades) I see Bowman being more game-ready...he could really end up being a stud.

I think another receiving option that some people might be overlooking is Brad Smelley. He's listed as a TE, but he's more of an H-Back in that he is more of a threat catching passes than he is blocking. He's a tough match up for defenses, and he finds the open pockets in zone defenses.

I can't wait for this season to start, that first game is going to be awesome. It's rather quiet here in Nashville compared to years past. Usually all the Vols fans are mouthing off every chance they get...you don't hear much of that nowadays...I actually kinda miss it ;)
