Alabama received some late-night positive news on Monday when Elliot Baker pledged to the Crimson Tide.

The 6-foot-7, 295-pound Baker is a four-star recruit at offensive tackle. He's ranked as the No. 2 junior college recruit in the 247Sports composite.

In the 247Sports individual rankings, Baker is ranked as the top junior college prospect.

Baker is from San Francisco, Calif., and now plays for City College of San Francisco.

He is currently on a visit to Alabama. He fills a big need at offensive tackle with Cam Robinson likely not being around for the 2017 season as he's a top NFL prospect (and there's uncertainty with his legal situation) and plenty of young players in the mix at both tackle spots. Alabama also dismissed tackle Charles Baldwin earlier this spring.

Baker picked Alabama over the likes of Georgia and Oregon. He becomes the 10th commitment for Alabama's 2017 class. will have 3 to play 2

Cam Rob gone.

Just goes to show that if you're a stud LT and think you're bulletproof, smoking up with a stolen gun at a park at 2am, Coach Saban has no problem going out and getting the top Juco OT in the country.

I think this speaks volumes as to how Coach Saban feels Cam Rob's criminal case is leaning.

Early indications are that this guy is a James Carpenter type that can come in and start day 1.

Cam Rob will be gone when this kid steps on campus in '17. Either his legal issues get him now or the draft gets him.

My b.

For some god forsaken reason, I didn't pay attention to the "class of '17" part, nor was I using my grey matter when thinking this kid would somehow be playing this year.

Long night last night, and so far, this day is just as long. I need a fookin' vacation.
