Zaxby's is just OK. I do like the Asian sandwich thing they have about once a year. My wife likes that Asian salad thing they have at the same time. They used to have an Italian chicken sandwich that was good then they got rid of it. I can name about 10 chains that beat them on just straight chicken and fries though.

The Olive Garden though, that is just a waste of money.

Guthrie's is better, and the original. I remember reading an article many years ago on Zaxby's when it was just starting to spread, perhaps twenty locations. The owner, Zach, still traveled around to all of locations to make the sauce so no one would steal his recipe....

...which is exactly what he did when he worked at Guthrie's.

Yeah, newer Zaxbys is nothing like old Zaxbys. They have gotten away from what made them awesome for the sake of expansion and franchise fees. Old Zaxbys would pancake Guthries and others though. I mainly eat there for the buffalo sauces compared to Chick-Fil-A.

I can’t eat fried foods anymore…but Foosackley’s puts Guthrie’s and Zaxby’s to shame. Raising Canes isn’t bad either but they’re quickly taking the Zaxby path.
