Cyrus Jones and Denzel Devall spent the majority of spring practice on an exercise bike, sidelined with injuries, while their teammates when through a combined 15 practices and scrimmages.
But Jones, a senior cornerback, and Devall, a senior outside linebacker, are "fully medically cleared" to participate in summer workouts, University of Alabama coach Nick Saban said Tuesday morning during a SEC West football coaches conference call.
Jones recovered from hip surgery during the spring and Devall sat out with a foot injury.
"We didn't feel like we needed to push them into the spring and maybe cause issues and problems for them in the future," Saban said. "So we think both players will be ready to go through the summer conditioning program."
Jones was the Crimson Tide's most consistent cornerback in 2014, in just his second season at the position after moving from wide receiver following his freshman season. Devall played in eight games as a junior, recording 11 tackles.
