🏈 Joey Gatewood hits the transfer portal again. (UPDATE: granted immediate eligibility to play for Gus this season.)

I could be wrong but he can enter the portal today but he missed that July 1st deadline to enter and be able to play this fall.

JMO the few times I have seen the guy play he showed very little that made me believe he could be a playa at QB for a good team. He looks the part but then again a lot of them do.

Like Dad used to say about me..."well you look like Joe Willie until the ball is snapped"...kind of brings a tear to my eyes.

Third school I believe. Auburn, Kentucky, and then this next one. I think he has until today to leave or he's stuck at Kentucky. They said he had already missed the cutoff to become immediately eligible at another school. He should just stick it out this year and try to unseat the transfer they brought in, and then transfer. I see zero point in leaving at this point. Now I think they already gave the guy he was battling for #2 that #2 spot.

I don't think Gatewood is awful. He has potential, but doesn't seem to have the work ethic to get there. Gus can definitely make him better at UCF... I've always thought Gatewood was better off going to school outside power 5... or HBCU schools.

When he was recruited he was an athlete they wanted to play quarterback. He's still there.
Does anybody think he’ll get to play? He’s missed most of Fall camp at UCF.
Wouldn't you think Gus has told him he'll have a few packages in their offense designed for JG?

That’s kinda what I was thinking. There’s some reason they pushed to get his eligibility. Which is outside of the normal guidelines. Had to be worth the fight, for Gus. Made me wonder why they pushed so hard for a guy that is basically coming in around week 1 of the season.

You think Gus’s season hinges on Gatewood? Geez, I hope so!!! 🤣 He’s awful.
This will be Dillion Gabriel's third year as starter. Phil Steele has UCF QBs ranked #9 in his Individual Units ranking. Gabriel already has some competition there. According to Steele, true frosh Mikey Keene is dynamic and has a quick release. FWIW, Alabama is ranked #16.
