It doesn't bother me. He's the head coach at a mediocre school and has to draw attention to the school, so that people actually pay attention to Vandy because otherwise people wouldn't bother paying attention to them

Saban was probably more irritated by having to stop what he was doing to take time to accept a silly apology than he was by being referred to by a silly name. His time is valuable, and Franklin's reference (will work as hard as...) just shows that Saban is the standard by which the rest measure themselves.

may be, but unprofessional imo. if saban acted in such a manner i would be embarrassed.

^^It's no more unprofessional than all the stuff that Spurrier has said over the years. Doesn't mean he's a bad coach, or a bad guy. It's the offseason...

Not sure why anyone would get defensive over this...it's not like Vandy's anywhere near being on Saban's level or Alabama's for that matter. Franklin knows this...and that's the only reason why he made the comment. He was at an event in GA...why don't you think he made a comment about Richt?

Not sure this even deserves a response, but SURE, I'd be fairly disappointed in Saban if he made comments like this because...why the hell would he?

Franklin was simply riding the wave of their first 9 win season since 1915. I found it a little classless to call CNS "Satan", but at the same time it was a complement to say they were going to try and "outwork him" everyday.

Basically Coach Saban can bellow "What up Bitches!" at A'day and I wouldn't give a rats behind. Vandy's coach is a good one, as others have said the bar is raised at Alabama and Coach Saban's Level. Vandy needs some publicity here and there. LOL

franklin has done and is doing a real good job, is a good coach and i do admire his efforts and work ethic. i am just surprised that he would call people names like some child in elementary school. i don't care either way, just a little disappointed in his character is all. i thought of him as a no nonsense kind of guy. as far as the old ball coach goes, i think we all expect stuff like that from him!
anyway thats just my take with no intentions of causing argument. roll tide ya'll !!
