🏈 @Ivan_Maisel: I am very sorry to tell you that Beano Cook died in his sleep. He was 81. If you love

Despite his overt love for the University of Notre Dame, I dare say no one can name a bigger fan of college football than Beano.

He was truly one of the traditions of college football.

Beano: “I think when God created college football, he intended it to be played, on grass, at 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon.”

A few months ago he was on Brando's show and was telling a story about covering Pittsburgh. (FWIW, if you didn't know, he was a HUGE Pittsburgh fan.)

Before the roster had been trimmed down a lady walked up to him and said she wanted a roster listing all of the players. Beano told her, "you should wait for a while, the roster is going to be trimmed down to around 75 in just a few weeks."

She insisted, and continued telling Beano she had to have the roster. He finally broke down and asked her why.

She said, "I plan on sleeping with every one on the Pittsburgh roster."

Beano replied, "OK, at the top of the roster at tackle, Cook, first name Beano."
