Met Saban in 2010 after that ‘09 season in Pensacola at Pensacola NAS naval museum. I had tickets to hear him speak at an event there. Actually ran into him after the event.He talked to my son 9-10 years old at the time. Super nice, a little intimidating to be honest. He came up to my shoulders in height, but it felt like he towered over me.

PS. The young lady handling the event for him was a SMOKE SHOW, absolutely stunning!!!!! She was handling the video camera, and organizing people.

On another note met Gene Stallings in Biloxi the year after he retired. Him and a very elderly gentleman were trying to get across beach blvd. My X wife (wife at the time) noticed him and told me to stop and hopped out of the car. We then proceeded to stop traffic (4 lanes) to get them across the street.
After that he invited us to dinner. During dinner he was so taken aback by my ex, he said she was the most beautiful creature he’s ever seen. And yes she was at the time. We chatted for over an hour after dinner. That was one of my most memorable “bama sports” moments.

To be fair excellence was not unusual at Bama but we were certainly in a dark place at the time. CNS restored it and then some..
