Ile miss has a good defense and a good qb. That was enough to beat Alabama on a bad day. I think some other sec teams match up better against them than we do.
I just think we are not a great football team. Our QB play is the worst we've had under Saban. I'd gladly take JPW back. I think the D is really good but the offense is subpar at best. There has been a talent drop at RB, QB, and OL. The receiving core may end up being special, but not this year...too young. I predict an 8-4 or 9-3 season.
I'm afraid Lambert may slice and dice next Saturday. Our D is probably going to be on the field a loooong time.
I'm afraid I was misled by the hype as well. Three losses this year would probably be good for this bunch. Please don't let one of the losses be Tennersee...
Vandy looked good against Ole Siss. Our Second half against Ole Siss looked better. Vandy looked better on defense than we did. A lot of that was our own making but they looked better.
For any kind of success we have got to get out s@!$ together. But we also will need Ole Miss to lose.... Twice! That's a tall order given that Auburn is so awful this year. I think LSU could beat the , but who else will step up and give us another chance?
We don't need them to lose twice, just once--LSU beats them and we beat LSU gives us a 3 way tie--with our cross conference game against Tenn/Ga we'll have the higher ranking and get to go to the dance. Just win out and pull for LSWho against the Bears.
IMO... next Saturday in a win or loss against Georgia will tell us whether it's "going to be one of those years" (playing spoiler) or whether we are legit contenders in the SEC, and that despite shooting ourselves in the foot against Ole Miss and then foolishly reloading 4 times.
Ole Miss experienced one of those "let-down" games against Vandy. It was one of those trap games between Bama and a trip to the swamp. After the Georgia game, I think we'll know where we stand. Until then, ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

The standard train of thought is a team should get better each week. I'm actually seeing the opposite. I was able to sit down and watch the full game of ULM and yes we won by 34. But from an offensive standpoint we're not getting better from game to game. It appears we're getting worse. The offensive line looks soft. Very soft. That's the alarming thing for me right now. It's not that we're not where we want to be. But we're not improving from week to week. We're getting worse from an offensive perspective.
I can't see Alabama's O-line blocking UGA consistently. I expect Coker to be running for his life and likely sacked 4+ times in this game. 2+ INTs.
What I'm hoping for is that their QB looks more like he did against Vandy than against Soco. Last 2 games, the guy is on fire. I have to assume like most QBs, he will play his best game against Alabama and that combined with their good rushing attack makes for a tough game.
They shouldn't. Because they're the coaches and we're the fans. We are able to be brutally honest in how we feel. The coaches (in many cases) aren't able to be. They have to walk a fine line between keeping a team mentally into the season while being able point out areas of weakness to the players without killing their spirits. That's why they get paid the money they do and why we have to pay to get into the stadium. But the brutal truth is our offense through four games has regressed rather than progressed. The defense looks to be in good shape. But the offense as of right now is struggling.
@planomateo Thinking out loud, but do you think the fans' exit affected the players? I really don't know how I'd feel as a player.
I don't guess there's anything that can be done to the deserters. I wish they'd give me their ticket. I stay no matter what. But, they paid for admission; no one can make them stay.
