I know it's not uncommon for big schools to offer the same kids but this seems like it's lock, stock, and barrel. As soon as Bama offers, here comes Kirbs.
I can tell you this. It's not a well kept secret that Kirby has been calling assistants that used to be at Bama and asking them about the Tide's recruits and evaluations. There's nothing wrong with that. It's borderline clever, while crossing the line of lazy (my opinion.) In another thread I mentioned I saw him starting to follow the steps of Tubs and Mack Brown. This is a prime example. It's not as bad as relying on a site (IE: Rivals) and their evals--like we've seen Okie State's AD do with rankings--but it's not "doing the job" in my eyes.
His access to the white board is fading. I remember a defensive tackle that was a grad transfer he didn't know about until we offered. Grandy, Grady, or something like that.
Randy Shannon did something similar by just recruiting stars instead of players that fit his program to get the press recognition and it cost him his job ..
