I don't mind at all, I actually like those Friday night games. The only thing is...1:30 in the afternoon? Surely that will change...

That's another thing I don't understand.

The afternoon prime slot on Saturday's kicks at 2:30. An hour isn't that much of a difference.

Well, to be honest with you I've always liked night games more than afternoon games so I'm already a little biased. And I don't know about you, but to me 1:30pm on Friday has a world of differences that 2:30pm on Saturday. Some just aren't able to get off of work when they ask, and I have a hunch that a lot of places will have a few people that are just screwed because not everyone can get the same day off.

I have no disagreement with the fact the Friday afternoon game will have a different feel than the Saturday game. BUT, on the same end, it's not like it is a context versus Miss. St. or something like that. I really believe people will still make it a point to be at the game in full force.

It may be a harsh way to look at it, perhaps a little closed minded as well, when I say take the day off. But, I feel if you can't take a day off work when you want/need it you very well may be in the wrong job. Granted, that doesn't apply to all walks of life, but it does apply to the majority.

Bottom line of my view...I see it as how it impacts the program overall, not just a fans enjoyment of the game.

Meh Friday game during the day( I have never been a fan of day games).

Most people know they have the weekend off, that applies to the majority.

My schedule changes and I have no idea if I will have that friday off ,and I am my own boss( my clients determine my schedule and my pocket). I do know that I do not have to work on weekends.

But ya know...whatever it is just a football game. I can record it and watch it later if needed. I know I will be listening regardless.

Hopefully things will fall into place and I do not have to work.:a:

Last Thanksgiving, we worked 2 twelves and an 8 that week and got Thursday off with pay and the odd hours gave us Friday off. Maybe that could give some people something to think about. Maybe puttin in a little overtime thru the week and being off that Friday. And as far as taking a vacation day that day, some places might be like where I work. We can't just take a vacation day. We turn in what week we want at the begining of the year and they go by senioroity of who gets what week. And the week they give us is the week we take. It sucks that they do it that way but I really lucked out. My vacation is the week after Thanksgiving this year. :td:

I guess where I'm really lost on some thoughts here is in this area.

It's early April, over seven months away from kickoff. What's to keep you from putting in for a vacation day that Friday if you are one of the ones that are scheduled to work that day.

I'm also curious if you are scheduled to work that Friday does that also include being scheduled to work that Saturday?

Becuse my Boss & my Dispatcher are two of the bigest Barners you've ever seen. The Dispatcher i have now....when he saw the 6 bama flags hanging on my car and the bama t-shirts i wear almost every day....
He beged my boss to have me assigned to his board so he could screw me every chance he gets. NO I"M NOT MAKING IT UP. Two of my best freinds work with me. (both aubs) and they were told by my boss 1st hand. aub to aub.

So putting in for THAT day off.....might just get me a double shift.

And then it depens on the Avalibility of Corn @ the Talladega Mill and the Demand for it @ the Hope Hull Mill. if one or both are closed we're off. IF thier both open.....then trucks are running.

You very well might go into sensory overload if you spent an afternoon at my house watching college football.

TV with PIP, ESPN360 on my laptop, along with a monitor I normally pull off my desktop if needed. Yah, I've kept track of a handful of games at the same time.

That's probably one of the reasons you don't see me complaining often about announcers - very seldom actually listen to what they have to say. I might start listening again when I find one that understands an end-round isn't a reverse. :lance:

It is kinda mixed bag for me...

Bad from the standpoint that I sometimes travel during that day during the holidays...but this is a weak point.

Mostly good, I can get home early from black Friday, it can keep me preoccupied from certain relatives, but most of all it keeps 'Bama in the national spotlight which helps recruiting.

While I like the idea in general, I am not too keen on it for this particular season.

The reason being Auburn has an off-week the Saturday prior and we play a game (although I think it is against a pretty weak 1AA team - I could be in error here). This will give us a very short week to prepare for Auburn while they will have roughly two long weeks to prep for us.

Remember all though, we played Auburn either on Thanksgiving Day or this day after in 1992.
