I saw your reply earlier ADDICT, but was heading out the door and couldn't respond. I want to piggy-back onto what Terry said regarding Finebaum.
Finebaum is a lot of things, but one thing he is not, is an "Alabama lover". Finebaum loves himself first and he loves controversy second. You might best describe him as an "equal opportunity hater". He hates on whoever it is convenient to at the time. Right now, through your head coach's hard work, it's open season on UT. You know who the happiest people in the South are now? Auburn. Fans and coaches almost get a free pass for their ineptitude now that Lane has arrived in town.
Finebaum is not a BAMA homer though. He's an opportunist. He dragged BAMA through the mud when Shula was here. Once the fallout in Auburn began (Tony Franklin deal) Finebaum unloaded on Auburn on a daily basis. Now it's UT's turn for....well.....obvious reasons.
You have to understand the dynamics of Finebaum and his show. He lives in a state where the only topic of conversation is BAMA/AU 24/7, 365. There is no other sports topic that polarizes the people here. So Finebaum is a fence-straddler and an opportunist. He knows he has to pull the strings of the fan bases to stay employed so he does that, and does it well.
I listed to Finebaum from time to time but for entertainment purposes only. You just have to understand how he operates.
