FWIW, I got into a conversation last night about mouthpieces. Most think they are to protect the teeth but they are designed to prevent concussions.

Actually they protect your teeth and help prevent concussions if worn, cut and impressed correctly

This would be something the military needs to look at
It could be adapted as a new internal suspension for the Kevlar helmet.

I'll bet when you have a hard hit, there is a whoosh sound instead of a clack.

Should they add an airbag to the sides and back to keep the head from jerking.

Knocking the air out of someone would have a whole new meaning.
