Does Alabama have enough offense to win it all?

" Asked Thursday about defending Alabama's passing game, Clemson cornerback Ryan Carter said, "Just take care of Ridley, and we'll be fine."

"Alabama really misses Lane Kiffin," a SEC defensive coordinator said. "It's not the same. They miss the creativity and the big plays. Toward the end of that Auburn game, they just continued to run their core plays and Auburn's just sitting on it because it's all they've ever repped.
"It's more of a defensive coordinator's offense."

"Sitting in the same seat less than an hour later, Ridley said, "Teams could cloud me and take me out the game. It's hard, I mean, we've tried to get guys involved. It's not like guys aren't open. Sometimes, it doesn't happen."

"It's frustrating," he said later, "because we definitely can go out there and sling the ball around. We've got the guys to do it."

Speaks for itself.

Well...had Ridley twice deep...and AU chose to do a PI.....smart ontheir part...
But that Ridley drop right at the end of the first half...really..hurt...
Would have been a first down...and wouldn't have had to punt from deep in territory...that resulted in AU points...

If the offensive game plan is the same as the Auburn game, I can't imagine Daboll being brought back next season. If Harris touches the ball less than ten times, the Alabama coaching staff is intentionally throwing the game.

Not been real impressed with Daboll, that being said: Daboll still has to flush the NFL out of his system and realize this is the College game! I would pound the Rock until they couldn't stand up! Then I would take the lid off! Roll Tide!

Seems simple enough, but if we run consistently on first and 2nd down against the best front 7 we've faced and find ourselves in 3-6/7 all night; at what point will you be calling for his head for not throwing more (or switching to Tua)?? If we're gonna run, then we need to block.

So don't even try to run it? Please. We need to block? Really? You come up with that one all by yourself?

Harris is averaging 8 yards a carry. Would you not run him more than six times? If they put eleven in the box he's got to touch it more than he has been. Unless Alabama wants to lose.

My point wasn't to disagree with fact that we will have to run to win. My question/concern is can we and if it becomes evident we can't; will it be Daboll fault?

That's self-evident. My point: Harris is averaging 8.2 yards a carry. If he gets the ball six times, I put the blame for the loss on Daboll.

I agree with you Chief but at what point does Saban bear some criticism? We’ve seen him tell an OC in the past to run the ball. I can’t imagine him standing by and just letting this play out like the Iron Bowl (from a play calling standpoint) but if it does...

Which team couldn't we run on? The problem is more about watching Jalen morphing into the RPO/Pistol/under center, at the drop of a hat. I dig multiplicity but not at the expense of identity. I think 30 days to think about clemson and a loss to your bitter rival might create more of a commitment to what we do best. If you think this team can't run on clemson you haven't been paying attention.

I think this Bama team can run on the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s just a matter of doing it like you mean it and sticking with it.

I agree with whoever said earlier 3rd and 6 bestseller the hell out of 3rd and 9. The way Alabama can run, I think if we did run on 1st and 2nd down a bit more frequently, we would be looking at more first downs and 3 and 3/4

I've got to be honest... I don't believe we were under center for 1 snap against Auburn. Maybe I missed one but that is all but gone from the offense. Drives me nuts. Maybe that's the "wrinkle" we will see tomorrow

I dont expect any changes to whatt we have done all year...
Execute....catch he ball when thrown....hitt the right hole....play D..maintain field position...
12-1 doing that.. to many think AU game was Bama.....it was a bad game ....period...
You will see the same Bama you watch since September

My problem has been Saban's, not Dabol's, abandoning runs by Harris and Bo when it was productive. Even if only picking up 2-3 yards early, physical toll of tackling Harris and Bo wears down tacklers and opens other plays. Tackling Hurts does not wear anyone down. I agree with Coach Bryant. Players win in spite of his coaching. Losses are all on coach for not having the players and game plan prepared. If there is a loss Monday, only one person to blame.

Funny...never seen a coach throw an int...or fumble..or miss a FG....
...while I get the gist of ur post...only part of it is accurate...
Prep...execute..get a break...dont get a bad officiating call..
All part of the game.....sometimes its ."Xs and Os" and sometimes its"the Jimmys and Joes"

I look at it this way, tomorrow night will finally be the definitive answer to the age-old question, do we really know what we do best? Stay tuned.
