You gonna cut all those under you that carry out the smaller tasks and assignments you ask them to do a little piece of your salary?

I absolutely take care of all my volunteers... :-)

Just saying these kids risk life and limb for glory and their coaches to get raises. His school is paid for either way. Financially it's a terrible decision for Evans to play through that injury... and many other Bama draftees who've came out under these circumstances.

This doesn't apply to non draftable dudes around the country but the 1% of guys like Evans that have a chance to make serious money should think long and hard about pushing their body like this. It's could be seriously detrimental to his career

He doesn't have enough tape on him to persuade NFL personnel though. Mel Kiper is a fucking idiot, so his draft bullshit mean jack. Athletes are competitors and winners, they don't like sitting out. I don't blame them from playing. Even Jaylon Smith said he wouldn't change a thing. Fournette has a bum rep due to sitting out, and reputation does mean a lot to these guys whether they believe it or not. Alabama glory means more in the long run than NFL glory, atleast in the circles I run in, and on this board probably. So I see why. They risk life and limb to become immediate 1%'ers, which 99.9% of us will never know what that's like. They know what they're doing, and life is a high risk high reward kind of game, so not only in college athletics.

Agreed on all that. He doesn't have a ton of tape, but he has done some impressive things. In his case, does getting more good plays on tape outweigh the high possibility of being damaged goods through the draft process?

Regardless we'll continue to see guys sitting out bowl games... And eventually end of seasons... And eventually whole seasons.

Glory is great until you've got bills to pay. Families, financial advisors, agents will get through to these kids. That's where it's heading IMO

Yep, I completely agree with that. To be honest, who knows the correct answer to this. I think we can all agree an education would be great for all of these guys, so when the bills come due and there is no more NFL contract they have something to fall back on. I'm with Coach Saban and that we want to help make you successful for the next forty years, not just the next few. Bodes well for the university when our students and athletes do well.
