Would someone give us an update on the injuries suffered at Ark? Will Dareus and the other injured be able to go Saturday? The last few plays that Dareus was in before coming out of the game didn't look good for us at all! He probably was going 10% at best. We sure need all hands on deck Saturday!

Roll Tide Roll!

from BSR a few hours ago...

Marcell Dareus was limited in practice. He was cleared for contact, but the staff was being very careful with an ankle issue that plagued him during the second half against Arkansas. He's expected to do a little more on Tuesday, but be back in the regular rotation on Wednesday.

With Dareus not working in his normal first string spot, Luther Davis was working with the first group. He's battling a couple of leg injuries, but neither is expected to keep him out of the lineup.

Greg McElroy has a wrap on his left thigh and was showing a noticable limp. He doesn't expect it to be an issue, calling is mostly a deep bruise.

Courtney Upshaw was able to play more on Saturday than in the previous two weeks, and he expects to be back to 100% by this weekend.

Otherwise, the Tide is at full strength through the 1/4 mark of the regular season. With everyone expected to play on Saturday, chalk that up as a solid piece of good luck.

Saban said Dareus should be back with the first unit on Wednesday, he was very limited today, but did practice. Very seriously doubt he'll be 100% by Saturday though. Upshaw is doing much better, improving by he week (and day), which is good news since Darues is limited now. Luther Davis is still banged up, but practicing. Onthe offensive side, McElroy is still dealing with the thigh bruise that he suffered on Saturday, and was limping around today... that will get better as the week wears on.

Dareus' injury could be a nagging one. Ankles are very finnicky. They either heal quickly (ala a young Michael Jordan in the playoffs) or just wear on for a bit (Andre Johnson currently).

McElroy will be fine by Saturday but will still be sore if he takes a shot on it. It won't keep him out of action at all, and I doubt it'll be anything more than an annoyance.

Hasn't Upshaw had something nagging for a few weeks now?

I don't understand why we continued playing MD this past Saturday at less than 50% and if he is less than 90% this weekend hope we allow him to recoup for South Carolina. His backup is far better at less than 90% and the risk is too great IMO.

I'm starting to think MD is hurt worse than they're letting on. He certainly isn't the Marcel of last year. But, on the upside, maybe this means we get him back for another season, seeing as how he hasn't had much to show the pros this year.
