🏈 Increasing attendance

Some good points in there about wifi, student attendance and the secondary ticket market.

All three of those are evident at Alabama. Cell phone reception (for me w/ att) is absolutely horrible inside of BDS. There are always holes in the student section (especially the greek section). And although I get any left over tickets from my dad, I know that stubhub is always a viable option for tickets at a reasonable rate.

Schools should consider doing their own ticket exchange service. It would at least allow them to get a % of that sale.

Its cool that they are looking at adding wifi and fixing the spotty cell phone coverage BUT this isn't a decision point in me going to the game.

I'm with you on this. I would go to a game for the game ,not to make/take calls.

Since I do not have a cell phone, could someone enlighten me? Why do people need to have cell reception during a game?

some like taking pictures and sharing while at the game, i use mine to get in touch with people to meet up with inside the stadium before the game starts

Dr. Bonner addressed this a few weeks ago...I'll find the article and post it later on today.

I like using mine to check on other games and see game stats since the good folks at BDS do such a crap job of doing it for us.

Sorry Bran, gotta laugh.

Here's one thing I noticed.

When the installation of the ribbon boards was announced there were a lot that assumed they would be used for stats, etc. But, I don't recall that ever being something that was mentioned as part of what was in the plans. Now, people bitch about those boards not being used for things like that.

I'm with you in this though. I want real time stats and scores. I do wonder how much of a minority we're in though. 10% of the crowd?

To be honest, I think it's more of a generational thing. Past generations wanted to see things live. Current generations are hell bent on watching from home and commenting real time via social media.

BDS is bad for phone reception. I didn't have issues connecting with who we were meeting outside the stadium either game I went to this year. I don't care abotu cell service though. I camped in the Rockies for three weeks just a few years ago, and upon entering the park there was no cell phone service. Being out of touch was great!

How about concession choices/ prices? How about parking? How about hotel rooms? How about access to the campus/ routes out after the games?

Some good points but I think they are missing the point. The cost of games is the major reason people do not want to go versus watching it on HDTV at home.
