| FTBL In the state of Massachusetts high schools are not allowed to practice or play games if the temperature is above 86 degrees?

It's Massachusetts. They have needed another Tea Party up there for about 30 years.

Waaaaaaaaay back in the 1900's when I was in high school, I worked at the local K-mart. A family passing through (from Mass) were driving south to Orlando to go to Disney world. Guy was talking to me and wanted to know what he had to do to buy a pellet pistol or rifle. I said, pay me the money.

He could not believe it. He bought both. He was blown away that you could buy and actual rifle or shotgun and walk out with it the same day if you were an Alabama resident. His wife walked up during that discussion and she said "That's Horrible".....and sounded just like Edith Bunker.
He was too proud to be able to get both guns and shoot squirrels and crap in his yard and not have it documented with his state. This was 1991.

Were they lost? Driving through Alabama to get to Disney from Massachusetts takes you way out of the way. Most just get on I-95.

I remembers the day, when I lived in the great state of Alabama, and 95 didn’t feel “hot”. After being up here and being acclimated to the cold weather, for 20 + years, freakin 85 is hot.
I bet though, aside from Alabama Mike, y’all couldn’t stand the 0(zero) to 20 degree weather! Much less the below zero weather!!!
That being said, I think they need to build a dome over the city or town and keep it a comfortable 68 degrees! Pansies!

@bamaledge , you forgot to mention the snow on top of that cold weather. Believe it or not, if it has been really cold, 15 degrees or lower for a few days, 25 seems warm. Also don't forget how crazy southerners ( I am a proud one) get when the news just talks about the chance of snow.

I mean 90 isn't even that bad as long as there is a little bit of a breeze but its the damn humidity man. It can be 89 or 90 degrees but feels like 105.

Nothing extreme is pleasant and requires a lot of tolerance and adjustments. So freakin' cold in Minnesota (-26 the last day I was there) that a person can come down with a bad case of cabin fever, with or without the snow.

That's why you have hobbies for the winter time ;).

Meet my newest a 76 FJ40. Also going to be learning how to tie some flies to use next summer.

You have the right idea. In Montana, in the summer, the coolest place on earth. My neighbor moved in from Montana. He's up there right now, I'll be seeing him again in October. Like clockwork.

Lived in Idaho for 2 years. If I could change one thing about the south I would give it Idaho's climate. Of course all the southern crops would fail because we do not have the highly organized irrigation system they have out there

You need to get some practice driving in the snow. LOL Things will not shut down for a few snowflakes.

Give it time :). Daily drives will give me lots of practice soon enough.

I've got some practice, just not enough yet... The drive through the hood is gonna be the fun part, a few nasty hills when it gets icy.

Luckily all of my vehicles are 4WD, but that won't be enough in the ugly times. Going to get a winter bag setup to throw in the vehicle - chains, blankets, shovel, etc.
