I guess it gives the programs with roster issues the option to let people go and bring in some of these guys. No one will likely want to talk about that but it will be an option. Seems like a whole new source of talent for Saban if he wants it.
This may be the answer to the talent blue blood gap. Albeit a one year or two year deal, but that talent is going to need to land somewhere. Could be an interesting opportunity to gain some ground for schools like Arkansas, Mississippi State, Baylor, Wisconsin, Central Florida, TCU etc.
Of those in the transfer portal, how many could be immediately eligible with the transfer rule (non-graduate, having to sit out)? Who has 1 year of eligibility? Who has 2? Who has 3?
If a team lets a kid go that subtracts from the total of 85. It doesn't apply to the initial 25. If we take Bama as example, the Tide could take three. At the 190 numbers that's almost eight initial classes of 25.
