I know publicly they say differently but Jalen was starting at OU from the moment he transferred, barring injury.

Might have been a bit more real comp with Fields but I really doubt it

This time of fall camp it's not too surprising. Both made the investment before spring ball and both lost some quality talent at backup because of it. Maybe a little more surprising some of the lastest intel out of the Plains is that Bo Nix has beat out Gatewood.

that's kind of funny Had 2 different au fans over the weekend tell me how good Gatewood was going to be. More fun would be to take bets on how badly gus screws up whoever the starter turns out to be and if he snatches him out about the time he starts getting a rhythm to run a gimmick

Gus has to let this QB race play out in camp. It has to be just as obvious to the players as the coaches to keep the team on the same page. And who knows, even if Bo is getting the majority of snaps the intel was that Blake Barnett was the heir apparent going into the 2016 season for us. Jalen was pictured more as the up and comer with a ton of potential, but brand new. Then the USC game happened. If Bo Nix passes his Oregon test I guess gus has his man. What the gus bus can do with that is always a mystery.
