I do wonder what coach you thought about when you read this thread title. Let me know.

I'm presenting my argument this way.

Chris Black, Eddie Williams, Ryan Anderson, Darius Philon and TJ Yeldon.

Jeremy Pruitt is coming into his own in terms of recruiting.

In terms of recruiting, hard to find anyone better except Saban in terms of results so far. As a position coach, it's hard to overlook that Saban is very hands on with the secondary himself so I will give Pruitt a major assist. My position coach of the year from a coaching standpoint would have to be Chris Rumph, Defensive Line. Coming into the season, everyone talked about our LB's and secondary for good reason. This DL got it done in the trenches and it all starts there.

I'd nominate Rumph for the same reasons stated above. Going into the season everyone knew we had a great defensive and if there was a question mark it was on the DL. Although all aspects of the D lived up to expectations, the DL excelled.
Also can I add Scott Cochrane? Yeah i know not a position coach but damn that dude is awesome

Is Cochrane allowed to recruit off campus, or does he just yell at recruits from Tuscaloosa?

Probably Sunseri, linebackers have been outstanding this year and defensive line coach as well Rumph also has done a superb job of coaching this year as well.

I'd vote for Sunseri. He gets my vote for DC if he's still around by the time Smart leaves. If Smart stays 2 more years we probably lose Sunseri to a DC job, possibly even after this season. You couldn't blame the guy. I'd be willing to pay him a cool mil to run that side of the ball. He's a keeper. Either way, we probably lose them both after next season. If I had to hire a guy, I'd go for either.

I know the rest of college football was hoping that our "inexperienced QB" situtation would pan out to be our down fall. Noting that we are playing for the national championship, It would be a disgrace not to see a vote here for Coach McElwain.
