šŸˆ In last 50 yrs in CFB history, no coach other than Saban has had a team ranked #1 in the AP poll for more than 4 consecutive years. Saban w/10

And I remember when it was the talking heads saying Miami 's streak of 6-7 (it says 4 but i think it was longer) whatever would probably not be broken....
Well,it is broke....
And I really don't see Bama 's stopping for awhile...
Should be #1 in ap starting year....for sure....Ohio State may give it a close shot..
And the 2019 Bama team is the one to watch...multiple loaded....may be Nicks best..

It is 7. For a school, not coach. Miami 1986-1992. LMAO at ending in 1992!

Johnson from '86 to '88. Erickson from '89 to '92. So he is the one with 4.

And it is the last 81 years, not 50. 1936-2017.

I'm not sure Saban coaches past 70, or even when he's 70. I hope I'm wrong.

I dont know ..... i think its up to his health....if he stays good.i see him going into the 70s..... he can live on his reputation for a couple of years.... but i just dont know he has a lot of hobbies.... grankids are fun...but nice when they go home....

I believe you're getting draft picks and weeks at #1 confused here. Miami had a long stretch where they had a player picked in the first round. Bama is creeping up on that (if they haven't surpassed it by now.)

When it comes to weeks where they were ranked #1 Miami trails seven or eight programs. Right now Ohio State has the lead with 88 as I recall...Bama closed out the season with their 86th.

Miami did have 7 consecutive years ranked at #1. See my post above.

You wouldn’t believe all the things i get confused at. Lol

No one plays from ahead better than the Tide. And it shouldn't be taken lightly. Most teams start coughing up their spleen at the first sight of the numero uno attached to their university. I'm looking at you Georgia. This whole argument with Ohio State in at #4 was absurd to me for this reason. The media and the committee are willing to recognize Alabama #1 throughout 2016 and 2017 for every regular season game of the season and we are supposed to be debating who has the 4th best team in the nation?

My delight in all this is that people still don't get the "eye test" after 4 years and numerous attempts to state their case and some of these number pushers never will. The "eye test" can be the most complicated set of metrics in the world. It is a scientific fact that humans take in 80% of our information through the eyes. When discussing football teams we have an incredible capacity to evaluate these teams from a wide range of perspectives. To ask a human to pick the best 4 teams is, in fact, the most logical approach in the universe. The bottom line being, from what your eyes tell you, who is BEST? Someone should write a book on eye metrics and analytics. It's "subjectively" perfect.
