šŸˆ I'm counting (as the crowd shudders) the number of coaching changes we've seen with Saban.

And I may have missed one here or there. My total count this morning is 48 staff changes headed into his 12th year at Bama.

As example:
OC - Six (Daboll, Sark, Kiffin, Nuss, Mac, Pendry/Applewhite.) I guess we could call that seven.
DC- Four (TBA, Pruitt, Kirby, Steele.)

We've only seen one running back coach with Burns.
WR- five,
TE- four,
OL- five.

DB- seven
ILB- seven,
OLB- five,
DL- four.

You want a brain exercise? See if you can name them all without a little help from search engines.

You want to entertain a thought? How much difference does it actually make when you take into account Saban and company are looking forward to their sixth title over that span?

What's been most remarkable to me through the constant shakeup in coaching staff are the relationships of recruits that get cultivated and somehow we get them to signing day. So it doesn't appear to matter much as long as we have the athletes on campus.

Nick wasn't kidding when he told Mal.........

ā€œDo you think you’ve hired the best coach in the country?ā€ the 55-year-old Saban asked Moore.
By this time, with Moore’s agonizing, month-long quest to pry Saban away from the Miami Dolphins having finally come to fruition, the AD was feeling a bit punch-drunk. He still didn’t know his new coach very well, still found him hard to read.
ā€œWhy, Nick, of course I do,ā€ Moore said, while thinking to himself: For $4 million a year, I sure as hell hope so.
ā€œWell, you didn’t—I’m nothing without my players,ā€ Saban said, locking eyes with Moore. ā€œBut you did just hire a helluva recruiter.ā€

Speaks to the level of program continuity from an Xs and Os philosophy that starts at the top. There may be subtle nuances and wrinkles added with new coordinators, but overall, this is still Saban's D, and Saban's O. It's simply plug-and-play with coordinators.
Ed Zackery............seems like only yesterday when Mal opened the playbook for Coach Stallings with the end around and then the fake end around.

I understand the basic meaning of what you're saying and agree on that level... but I would disagree with phrase plug and play... I think it more that Saban understands what he wants to do and is very good are "recruiting" the proper coach to fill that need. I don't feel that you could plug just any coach in and get the same results...

I would think you are on the same page with that too if I read between the lines correctly.

Well of course.

Not just "any" coordinator. If that were the case, I know a lot on this board that would qualify...lol.

But, we all saw Saban go outside the criteria mold with Kiffin, from a personality standpoint, at least.
