| FTBL Illegal touching play

My first thought as it unfolded, even without realizing at the time it was the same crew that did the UGA vs. Texas game this season... If it had been in Bryant-Denny, could fans have thrown trash on the field to give them time and an excuse to talk it over and overturn it?
And that’s why the entire crew should be suspended / let go

Officiating is going to continue to be a problem until more money is allocated for the pool, which basically means making them FT officials while also rewarding the good ones and penalizing the bad ones both monetarily and with a ranking system (much like teams have where the best crews works the most important and high profile games). I have thoughts on this I'll post another day, but I wish they'd do away with SEC only crews and have a Power 4 officiating pool with which to work from. They also really need to make strides in growing and enticing more younger people to become HS officials, to alleviate the shortage and start a better "trickle up" the ranks type system.
But Brandon...the nfl has many missed or bad calls. And look at their refs pay...training...

Things happen fast...refs get tired...eyes...bodys...
Some things are just part of human

And there are make up calls...BIAS calls...

What this ref saw and why the awful and wrong ( we assume) ...hard to figure

Then I say you don't call it. There are reviews for a reason, so you keep that in your pocket if you aren't certain. Make the white hat throw it if you aren't 90% or better for sure.

Nothing is ever going to completely solve the problem, but there are steps that can, and should, be taken to correct as many of the issues as possible, and limit the missed calls as much as possible. Things can, and should, be better overall... there are simple ways to do most all of it.

From the Department of Corrections...

Starting fourth quarter. Bama and williams were called for "illegal touching" of a pass....and that williams was covered up...

Clearly shows williams was an eligible receiver ...is it clear...what did "line judge " see that we didnt?

If he wasnt ....wouldnt that have been called..."ineligible downfield " immediately?

Flag was thrown. Before Williams caught ball ( very close).

Strange or blatant mis call. Or correct?

How it affected game. Who knows....probably none...

Why was flag so late
The same ref crew that worked the Ga - TEXAS GAME. HOW ARE THEY STILL WORKING IN THE SEC??!!
