🏈 If Les Miles were President

If you are on the Les Miles bandwagon, well, good for you. It's a free country. He's a damn fine coach according to some.

The hell he catches MAY have something to do with the games he did let slip away. Ole Miss VS LSU, 2009, is a prime example. There are a few others.

just to have some fun ;) - I'm in a playful mood today.

yeah, his record says he is a horrible coach. he has a problem talking in complete sentences, is time management challenged, and wins with other peoples players....

.....and he wins most of his bowl games - only lost one, doesn't give up 20 points to Auburn in a game that you are clearly stomping a mud hole in their arse, and certainly doesn't lose to a small team in Louisiana on I-20 that puts up billboards during a trip to the Poulan Weed-Eater bowl ;)

That being said, I'm glad we have Saban, but I'd say that Miles is a better coach that he gets credit for...but that's me. I hope we crush LSwho this year.

FWIW, ya know he's one year removed from having a .500 record in SEC in back to back seasons. And, even LSU fans have to admit they dodged a few bullets last season: IE: Mississippi State.

I would say (and did say) that Lester out-coached Saban last year. I think he handed his azz to him. Who didn't guess fake kick in that game except for CNS??? That one still gets me.

I was at that game with Louisiana-Monroe and watched as their players walked off our field to an ovation by our fans. Maybe one of the coolest and suckiest moments I have ever witnessed at BDS. Had nothing to do with Saban and Miles. Had everything to do with old attitudes left from the previous regime, then again. that's my opinion.

In all fairness, Miles is a good coach and a pretty good recruiter. Fair or unfair, his lack of ability to articulate a simple point is quite comical. GWB had the same problem at times so if it's fair game to a US Prez, I certainly think Lester is fair game as well.

BTW, summarily passing over his clock management snafus is a big mistake. Had that happened at Alabama with Saban (the whole Tennessee and Ole Miss debacle) it would have been more than Toomer's oaks being poisoned!

yo know I almost compared his speaking abilities to GWB, but left it out for some reason. his speaking abilities are impressive to say the least. I know GWB one-on-one was really seemed like an intelligent person and I really enjoyed listening to him, but when he got on stage it was always what is he gonna say next. I wonder if Les is the same way.

was hoping nobody took those comments the wrong way ;)

BTW, Urban Meyer's ability to articulate dwindled greatly when he was getting stomped His halftime interview was priceless the 1st time he came to Alabama.

Poor guy sounded like he was having a stroke.

This one of my favorites from Lester...

I have a hard time respecting a coach when: 1. He drops F-bombs at a diner where kids are on stage with him 2. He throws his QB under the bus for spiking the ball, saying he didn't know who told him to "clock it" when the replay shows CLM clearly giving the spike signal. 3. He runs out on the field in the UT game to call a Timeout after LSU intercepts the ball (his assistant coach has to pull him to the sidelines and explain to him that the clock stops when there is a change of possession.

Les Miles is the butt of many jokes about his hat, his grass chewing and his clock management. But it's usually the LSU coach that ends up having the last laugh. In six seasons with the Tigers, Miles has compiled one of the SEC's best coaching records. At 62-17, his .785 winning percentage ranks fifth in conference history, right between league legends Paul "Bear" Bryantand Gen. Robert Neyland. Last season, Miles joined Bryant and Phillip Fulmer as the only SEC coaches to have won 11 games in a season at least four times.

His detractors might say luck was the biggest factor in Miles' success. But his record shows Miles' teams do three things exceedingly well: win non-conference games, win close games and avoid consecutive losses.

Miles has a 29-1 non-conference record at LSU. Last season, the Tigers won a school-record six games by a touchdown or less. And of Miles' 17 losses at LSU, 16 have been followed with a victory by the Tigers.
