Thanks for sharing that. I hadn't had a chance to read it today, but I had three people email me a link to the story today. Positively affecting young people is the most important job of a coach, and he's going over the top. Coaches used different methods. My HS football coach encouraged, cajoled and believed in us, but he also used to paddle our players (yes, another era), two licks for each F and one for each D. We would all bring our report cards to the field house and all punishment was doled out to the entertainment of the team. I guess I was getting too much enjoyment out of the whole event, so I was told I would start getting licks for B's.
