šŸˆ ā€œIf give us one game against Clemson...against Bama or against Notre Dame ....we’re gonna F*cking beat their ass... I promise you." Ryan Day

I’m not a fan of players airing the locker room business like this.

To me this is no different than Coach Saban’s ā€œmake their asses quitā€ speech.
Back in 2008 there was an official site that had video highlights of each game Bama played. I can't recall the company who produced the video's and site, note it was an official site with Saban's backing/influence. It was clearly done as a recruiting tool. We had a "Week One," "Week Two" and on down the line series: the MTAQ came in "Week Ten".

There is a difference between the two. One is out of the locker room (like Orgeron's tirade last season), a "leaked video. The other is an official video.

I see no difference in Day saying what he said and Saban saying what he said then.

Saban didn't single or call out any individual team. Day did.
Saban didn't promise/guarantee anything. Day did.

Yes, they are both motivating their respective teams but to say there is no difference? I don't think it's as big a deal as it's being made out to be, or even a big deal at all outside the obvious bait, but it seems pretty clear that there's a difference.
