As part of ESPN’s Black History Month observance, the Sunday, Feb. 15, SC Featured segment examines the importance of football at an underprivileged high school in Tuscaloosa, Ala., that through re-zoning became economically and racially segregated. An extended half-hour “Central High” special airs on ESPNU on Monday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m.

I did my practice teaching there in the Fall of '93. Buzz Busby was the football coach and Jim Holland was the girls' basketball coach. Central and Robert E. Lee in Montgomery used to dominate 6A football. Holland won several championships with his girls' team as well.
