any of our "big games" at night? Sure we have had some in the past few years, but not nearly enough. Personally I believe there is something to playing under the lights. The crowd always seems to be waaaay more into it also. The noise at the Oklahoma game a few years back was almost unbearable and it was awesome. We need more night games!

On Saturday's the "prime time slot" is the 3:30 game on ABC/ CBS/ ESPN.

I'd rather have the games at 3:30. Especially if I'm driving to the game.

From talking to ex-Tide players they will tell you night games are awful and they hate them. Sitting around all day and thinking about playing a game like Tulane just makes them unbearable. Night games at Alabama are only a recent television dictated phenomenon in the post-Dubose era.

As far as an economic impact is concerned, the West Alabama Chamber of Commerce has said that they are terrible for businesses like resturants, etc., because they end so late in the evening.

I've always felt that day to night games are the best, so the 3:30 kick has always been the marquee time for a big game. I think its from watching Super Bowls as a kid and they would kick off at 4pm and go into the night, back in the 80s.

^^I'd heard that too. Funny thing is it seems like a false claim. Being that Bama beat them last season at night. I understand the games have to officially start at *night*. It just seems like a little bit of a silly claim to me...

I like the night games because my son plays 8-9 year old football on saturday mornings and I feel like I'm in a rush to ge the grill going for the 2:30 games. BUT, I like the 2:30 games WAY better than the 11:30 games. I usually miss the 1st qtr. of those.

Give me the 2:30 games, sprinkled in with a couple of night games but leave those 11:30 ballgames to the down trodden groups.

ESPN just said that LSWHOOOO has won 32 Saturday night games.

Yeah, that's been said several times this week, but it's a misleading stat. It only counts the games that kickoff @ 6:45 and out of those 32 wins, only one was against a Top 10 team.

If I am going to the game, I would rather it be during the day for the drive home but watching it on the tube I prefer night games so I can fish during the day.

I've watched this thread wondering if anyone would mention what being on CBS in the afternoon also means—haven't seen it.

It's one of the prices you pay for success.

CBS gets a choice, they look over the landscape of the SEC, and jump on what games they think will draw the most viewers. IF this team was struggling, or didn't have the national draw that it does, we'd see more night games.

As it happens, it's a team that has won 18 of their last 20 games. We are now going on what? 12-13 weeks in the top five in the nation?

I realize there are fans that like the night games. It's understandable. But, I also realize there is more to the story.

Seriously, our homecoming game is a nationally televised broadcast. I know, I know...we are playing an SEC team and it's against a decent South Carolina team.

Our stadium just seems to be more into it a night. Like most stadiums I guess. You don't see as many people being ask to sit down or be quiet at night. I guess many of the older folks stay home for night games. Oh well. Good conversation.
