Gervais is there. When I mentioned Matt Rife he didn't know who I was talking about. I asked his wife. No clue. I've asked a half of a dozen people the same. No clue.

Am I the only person?

 
There are some good comedians mentioned in this thread. Only one comes off the cuff like Rife and it's still not the same as the others. A routine versus "bam.".

Hedburg I like...he watched Steven Wright (one of the best.)

The closest I've seen (in person) to Rife was Ralphie May. I have no idea what his normal routines were like, but the one evening in the Stardome that I saw him you didn't want to be.... A) sitting down front. B) be distracting in any way during his set, like going to the restroom or having your cell phone go off. -or- C) try to interact with him/heckle him to be funny

...which sounds like a great show.
