🧑‍🍳 I think it's time to have an honest conversation about hot dogs.

Can't remember the last time I ate one. It's Conecuh or brats for me.
I thought about including sausage in this...do you eat plain?

Me? I tend to add just a squirt of mustard for moisture...spicy mustard, not the "Yellow's" stuff.

As mentioned, I'm seriously considering this "hot dog" thing. The guy I'm talking with and I started looking at carts and what to include. It was a time out moment for me.

I'm about at the point of an impasse with my choice of the name, and the concept. I'm about stuck on "Dirty Water Dogs" after thinking about the old NYC hot dog cart.

Beaver deli mustard or spicy brown. The yellow stuff is for hot dogs.

Yellow mustard and sauce. There use to be a place in Phil Campbell, Alabama back in the 60’s and 70’s called the Chat and Chew. Loved stopping there when we went to visit my relatives in Haleyville.

Anyone old enough to remember Lum’s? Hotdogs steamed in beer.

Like the name. Are you going to have the dogs custom locally?

Looking...haven't decided. The best I've tasted has been from Applegate out of Illinois. Organic, grass feed all-beef. I can use their advertising for "no glutton" without spending any money to hit that "ilk." It's just a sign. TruBeef soaks the flavor of the water in more than Applegate. So, that's one place I'm stuck.

I can only talk about this once a week. I really don't like hot dogs. But...then we get back to the alphabet with letters like "P" and "L." "PX2."

I've not had one person tell me to reconsider the name. I have to explain it...and that's where the logo will come in. I've been playing with it...and one of my early drafts has pinstripes as the background with a baseball. I think people who hate the Yankees will get the reference and still stop by. It's the NY cart on the sidewalk image I want...

I did hit a stumbling block this morning when the guy who leases the property is now talking about $10 bucks more a SQ ft than he did a few months ago...when he didn't know I was thinking about hot dogs.

Maybe I'm a conspiracy guy. I don't know. The location is next to Cook-Out. I'm going to beat them on everything. Seriously. Quality and price. Sonic is across the street. Same (I do like their corn dogs...and their chili dogs.) I'm getting weird questions from the real estate guy.

I have no idea where this lands in the end...'bout like the church location I've been looking for ...damn, 10 years now. But this one smells. I honestly believe someone in the area is actively in the real estate's agents ears. I don't think it would be one of the three hotels within walking distance. The gas stations? No. Waffle House? No. A deli? No. A BBQ joint? No, maybe, but no.

DAMN, a rant again...all I was doing was taking a break from taxes.

The most important condiment for a hot dog is mustard. After that, a combo of kraut and chopped onions or chili (a good greek style meat sauce - not can chili), and finely chopped onions. Best store bought dog is Shalens.

Conecuh, very similar, minus the chili. I'll go with the thicker Conecuh though... must have mustard. Usually also with cooked/grilled peppers and onions on a fresh Arnold sub roll(s).

Yes. With the POA this was the first season I seriously looked at mom's medical bills and how that is reflected in her return. I was around 80 percent done on the morning of the 15th and then T-Mobile and their Internet starting giving me hell that afternoon. I got a new modem/router. But...wrong day for that to happen.

What is it...October? It was a rough night so I'm not thinking too clearly this morning. My plan is to finish them this week.

It wasn't confusion. It wasn't too complicated. I just got tired going through it all.
