Never waste a crisis. The gun control vote is for the election in November. "If we had more Democrats in Congress we could keep you safe." Then the Socialism package starts due to the economy. They are already laying the groundwork and big business is helping a lot. Inflation is up, wages are down comparatively, but profits are up.

Obviously I can't prove this but it certainly is convenient if you want to change peoples behaviors make it painful. Making gas prices high makes there more of a willingness to use electrical cars. May not be causing it but they sure aren't helping or in a hurry to find a solution.

On the gun control they will never waste an opportunity to keep going after guns. Been that way for decades. Easy sound bite get rid of guns. Might there be several solutions to the tragedies we are seeing in our schools? There are but there is no debate about options and you know there are others.

It's interesting how they frame the age discussion under school shootings pointing to the average age. At the same time research on all mass shootings points to ages over 30. (See Rockefeller Institute on Government.)

It irks me that the politicians get so riled up and want to grandstand when there is a “mass” shooting with an AR platform rifle is involved yet ignore all other type homicides. Chicago had over 800 homicides in 2021, most all gun related. How many involved an AR weapon? Who knows. In 2022, so far THIS year, there have been 31 kids 18 and under shot and killed in Chicago. 31! In 5 months! That would rank right up near the top in mass school shootings of any year. Have you heard anything about these victims? Any vigils been on tv. Any politicians grandstanding about these? The politicians from Illinois need to worry about their own state and cities and show they care there before shaming the rest of the country about the availability of guns. 3,561 shooting investigated in Chicago in 2021, and you know there were many more that occurred. And that is where gun ownership is a high bar! I feel for the innocent law abiding citizens up there. Only 12,088 illegally owned guns confiscated in Chicago in 2021.

She firmly believes the AR15 is an M16 that was made single-shot for civilians. The gun grabbers sell this repeatedly and they buy it. The gun grabbers also know that much of the gun violence is black on black and they aren't going to bring that up at all.

Technically she is right. Take the lower receiver and machine it differently and a different bolt I think. You can go online and buy a match grade parts kit and you have a serious firearm even as an AR

What's not mentioned is that 83% of those deaths are in the 15-19 range. Adolescents killed in gang-related activity, those attempting/committing crimes and, unfortunately, suicides are three large parts of this. I went and looked at the data to arrive at the 83%, I knew it had to be a big portion, surprised it was so large.

Can't bring up the suicide angle as they argue those would go down. I find it doubtful that it would impact it too much. Firearms are only a little over half of US suicides (52.83%) and many of those will move to other methods.

BTW. Don't search anything related to suicide on Google. They always think you are going to try it. As much as I have researched statistics on various aspects of it I am probably on a watch list somewhere.
