He's a freshman, he's not played a down for Alabama, and he was a recruiting mistake?

He had a horrible knee injury in high school. I'd think medical scholarship before anything.

Only if they felt he would NEVER play a down. I recall CNS did that with a DL out of GA several years ago. Kid suffered a neck injury, yet we honored the scholarship.
It could be that in Clark’s case, IF he was put on medical, it was done after our doctor’s took a close examination of his knee once he got to campus.

It also wouldn’t surprise me if Saban kept him on the roster to allow for his profile and photo to be included in the game program and website. Losing the ability to play is heartbreaking for a kid. Having your write up in the program would let him keep it for eternity.

I assume Josey saw this in the article on TheSpun website that came out a couple of days ago vs doing an actual full assessment of the roster. At least I hope! I hate the kid had such a bad injury, has/had a ton of potential, good size and speed.
