It's designed to increase forum activity awarding trophies for milestones: post count, how long someone has been on the site, number of likes, etc. Several years ago when I first started the Sportsbook it was linked in to your cash balances so you'd get "paid" on activity giving more money to wager with. IE: A $1000 for a new thread, $10 for a reply, etc. We used to have Texas Hold-em games on Friday and Saturday nights here where that "cash" could be used.

Now it's just a function taking up space...I guess I should hide the text in the member card.

Here's an example from another forum which uses the system.

I love the passion also but you better dang well make sure that effort is the problem. I say that to say if it is a physical matchup issue where the other player is just bigger/faster/better it will not matter. Same if it is a schematic issue. I assume in this case she knows her team well enough to know that it was an effort/toughness issue and not the other problems.

Yep! When I coached, I always looked at the matchups first, before I went on a rant. To me, I always looked at focus, execution, effort, and attitude. Sometimes, the other team is simply better and to berate your bunch is pointless. They learn to tune you out when in fact a teaching point is there to be learned.

That'd be my choice, but Byrne has generally gone outside the box. Who knows what he's thinking. With the new arena on the way, I wonder how much he's going to he able to spend to lure in a good HC.

It's not all limited to that. IE: If we had a "Pick-'em" for basketball games that wins and losses could be tallied by trophy points.
