How can our wide outs not even get open?!.....Texass has an average defense, not sure what the problem was but Bryce had no where to go with the ball on so many pass plays...so frustrating that coach O cant adjust.

I think it was Klatt that said Gary Patterson had been scheming and game planning for this game for 3 months. I think that explains a lot. I have always liked GP and he did a dang good job for TCU for a long time. He was Fran's DC when Fran was at TCU, he stayed to be the HC.
Having said all that, I don't understand our receivers not getting separation.

Hard to get open when the other team gets 17 pressures on your QB during the game. I think the OL play was the problem yesterday. If we could have gotten more consistency in the running game it would have helped.

Two games in and I am not impressed with Steen from Vandy... Maybe as he gets more comfortable we will see what Saban saw in him bringing him to Bama.

The OL was A problem, not THE problem. The receivers suck, too. There were numerous dropped passes and Bryce Young overthrew some wide open receivers which he absolutely just loves to do it seems. It's odd how Bryce suddenly doesn't look like Superman when he doesn't have NFL receivers scattered all over the field, too...

Bryce looks pretty dang good to me. Completed 80% of his throws in the 4th qtr. I get that 2nd and 3rd qtrs were really bad. Anybody that has as much pressure as he was getting will have some struggles.

I did not realize until yesterday that Gary Patterson was the new Texas DC. As soon as I saw that I new the shorthorn defense would be improved.

He's not the defensive coordinator. DC is Pete Kwiatkowski, Patterson is "special assistant to the head coach." He's not even listed on Texas' website, which is... odd... According to the commentators, his entire job is to come up with game plans for games but those commentators didn't know sh*t so who knows if that's even accurate.

Gary Patterson being the "special assistant to the HC" was eye opening to me during the telecast. That means that he more than likely did work on the defensive game plan for BAMA for 3 months, even if Klatt and Johnson were down on their knees the entire game blowing Texas ad nauseum.

I agree that Bryce was hurried too much but he has a very quick thought process and a very quick release so I think the bigger problem was actually the wide receivers going to spots or getting separation. They did neither.
