well, while i agree that there is no need to take cheap shots, we have not seen any rival fans around this board for about 2 years.. i think that the auburn fans showing up at this point is a little classless in itself.. there is motivation for them to come here now and i seriously doubt it is to talk football...
i do agree however that they should be allowed to post.. i think it is a very weak gesture to not allow rival fans to a board whether it be good times or bad times..
Actually, I think Duder was around the whole season even while we were both still undefeated. Foshman has been more recent. In both cases, make no mistake about their Barn slant, but they do typically present themselves well with intelligent posts and well conceived lines of logic. I have seen them antogonized and get frisky in return, but that's to be expected.
As others have said, I appreciate the other perspectives as long as they are not obnoxious. We'll see if they stick around next year when I believe Auburn will take a significant slide as a result of all the players they will lose.
Like ExiledTideFan, I started a thread directed to Duder encouraging his boys to honor their victory over Bama by kicking some serious butt the rest of the way. That thread was also probably consolidated.
To me the Cam Newton situation is separate, that is, the goings on surrounding Cam Newton, his Dad, Pat Dye, Bobby Lowder, Milton McGregor, Gene Chizik, etc., are not the work of the fans that post here - at least I don't think so!

As such, I take them for their posts and engage when I feel like it. This year has been almost surreal for them - without Cam Newton, they would have easily lost to at least, Clemson, USCe, UK, LSU, and Bama and possibly MSU and UGa as well - they may not have even made a bowl. The Cam Newton firestorm has been so prominent in their success that it transcends the whole season and, indeed, makes it surreal. Most of us have never seen anything like it - to go with a low-performing new coach, start off with barely 7 wins, then suddenly a top 5 recruiting class and a national championship run ALL WITHIN A YEAR... well, like I said, it's surreal. I've said it before - I don't think the Cam Newton story is even close to being over and I think the names mention above are all involved, but we'll see.
Meanwhile, though I admit it is hard to do, I want my SEC and Alabama brethren to do us proud and honor their victory over us.
