One minute a feel BAMA wins by 10 then next minute, I feel we lose by 6. I worry about all the greenhorns on the 2-deep being thrown into the fire, on the other hand, I love our Lines on both sides of the ball and I really like how they match up with Clemson's fronts on both sides. That gives me hope. If BAMA can limit the mistakes, I think we win, because I feel we will force Clemson to make more than their fair share tomorrow night. I'm just not so sure they won't do the same to us...
Hopefully, BAMA will limit 3rd down conversions on defense and get pressure on Harper without having to blitz all night, and get the running game going on offense and dominate on special teams. If that happens, it will be a good night for us.
The bad news is, of the 71 players listed on the 2 deep depth chart (some positions listed more than one player), 27 players were either true or redshirt freshmen. That is a lot of youngsters getting thrown into a pretty hot fire.
Win or lose though, I think the team will improve this year as the season rolls along. They finally have a solid foundation of leadership (something that has been missed since the '05 class graduated) and some good depth on the field at most positions. As the younger guys get their feet wet, the team will start to gel, but it will take some time. This was never supposed to be a one year transition, and it won't be. That said, this team has the pieces to do some good things and with a little luck win 9 games.
