🏈 I actually laughed at this.

Ok im a little confused. First, he says that oregon has outscored their opponents 340-120. Which is totally understandable cause the ducks have a hell of an offense. But then he says they have a SOLID defense. Did i miss something? He even admits that we have a good D only allowing 7 points per game. True. We havent played an offense like oregon, who might score points on a defense like ours. But does he not get that oregon hasnt played a defense PERIOD? We have outscored our opponents 243-45. 45 points allowed thru 6 games. Thats impressive.

To briefly discuss the AU game--Cam was hurt. That was EASILY the worst game he played that year. He overshot WRs and fumbled. That horrid defense we had that year was still too much for them. They had a chance to "force OT and win the BCS" and their D folded because they weren't physical enough. That's all I'll say on that game.

Who cares that they have two shutdown corners in Pac-12 play?! Bama doesn't throw the ball that often. Bama has a minimum of 3 future 1st rounders on their OL. No one can compete with that. Hell, Lacy will outweigh most of their defenders alone.

On offense Oregon forces people to play sloppy, play without discipline and put themselves in poor position. They weren't good enough to do that to an AU D that literally had one great player. The hallmark of this Bama defense is discipline. They're fast as hell and will maintain their assignments. Oregon cannot compete with that.

The article drips of homerism more than almost anything I've seen. The SEC isn't scared of Oregon. Beating Tennessee a few years ago is irrelevant. If these two teams meet Thomas will get his yards and probably a score or two--that's it.

Ridiculous piece of "journalism"

Where was AU's D ranked in 2010? I seem to remember it being in the bottom half of the SEC at least in passing efficiency? I dont mean that insulting. They obviously did enough to win and Farily was dominant on the line. I seem to remember AU 2010 known for Cam carrying them to victory, not defense. AU still held Oregon's OMGWTF-50-pointpergame, unstoppable offense to 19 points.

I would love to see Oregon have to line up against one of the better SEC defenses.:td:

*DUH just remembered, they played LSU last year. That seems to have gone quite well for them. :)

Auburn was 9th in rush defense (actually higher than Bama at 10th) but 108th in pass defense, 60th in total defense, 53rd in scoring defense, and 76th in Pass Efficiency Defense. That secondary got torched ALOT that year, they still went undefeated tho which is mind-boggling to me.

cj, don't take offense to the question at all, brother. The D was garbage.

And we were great against the run, largely because of Fairley but we rotated 5 seniors on the DL plus Lemonier. Secondary SUCKED. We survived that year on pass rush alone on defense.

We held Oregon's O in check 100% on the defensive line play and they actually made our secondary look pretty good that night. They made our horrible defense look great. Imagine what they'll do to a defense that is already good...Size and speed will neutralize them. You guys have both.

Scared my ass
